Students and Teachers welcome!
Schools and other community groups are always welcome to visit the park during the day while artists and other community members are building their altars.
While we cannot offer comprehensive Day of the Dead tours around the park, we encourage teachers, community educators and organizers to informally visit the park while people are setting up their altars. The Marigold Project invites everyone to bring, flowers, ofrendas and mementos to offer to the dead.
If you are planning to visit the Garfield Park on November 2nd and would like more information about it please contact Maica Folch at maicaf@earthlink.net.
Somarts and the Mission Cultural Center both offer school tours of their gallery altar installations. Please find their contact information on our "Community Links" page.
Day of the Dead curriculum
We are looking for easy to implement Day of Dead educational resources to add to this page. Please send any information to Maica Folch at maicaf@earthlink.net.
